East and West Hog Island are a chain of pristine islands with over 600 acres surrounded by protective marshes overlooking Pamlico Sound, Back Bay and Cedar Island Bay.

Today these islands are inhabited by wild horses left by Spanish Explorers and offer multiple areas for home sites with access to private beaches and waterways to Core Sound. NC’s Ferry System links Cedar Island Village to Ocracoke Island, and NC Hwy 12 provides the only north-south link providing the vital connection for residents and visitors.

The unique culture and landscape of the communities along this route have earned it recognition as a scenic byway on a state and national level.
