Florida keys islands 15 acre island located just south of highway US 1, located within the political area known as the City of Marathon, of the Florida Keys. Of the 15 acres, approx 25% is wetlands. This is one of the closest islands in the Keys next to Highway US1, located less than 80 feet from the highway. An 80 foot bridge on driveway fill is all that is needed to connect, or perhaps a simple floating barge with ramps. As a condition of the deed of gift from the previous owner of what is now the property of US1 requires the state of Florida to grant "free access to the highway by all islands requiring it... forever". Canals were dredged in the 1960s giving access over the reef out to the ocean for boats.

Florida keys islands is located on the OCEAN side of US1, completely surrounded by navigable water, between Crawl Key and Grassy Key, at MILE MARKER #57. The Florida keys islands is forested.
