The rustic, undeveloped island of Santa Lucia/Miramar is located 12 kms South of the Atlantic Coast near the border with Costa Rica.
The greater part of the island rests on a river (Rio Indio) and a smaller portion is on the Atlantic Ocean.
This island is located at 30 minutes from a town called San Juan de Nicaragua and 5 minutes from a big resort. The island is also surrounded by the Rio Maiz National Park rainforest, making it home to many indigenous species of plants and animals that do not exist in other parts of the world. In addition, the island is great for fishing and is plentiful in coconut trees.
